Earthquake!!!!

Well Greg and I had the pleasure of experiencing our first earthquake the other night. It was very strange since we didn’t really know what to expect. We heard rumbling (similar to a train going by in Flagstaff) and then there was this huge bang and the building shook. We looked it up online and it was a magnitude 3.4. The weird thing is that everyone here is saying that it was not the way that earthquakes usually feel…I guess next time maybe we will feel the earth move the way it is “supposed” to. Anyway other than that we haven’t been up to much, just studying away. Hope everyone is doing well!

The ants go marching...

Well I decided to take a break from studying anatomy to update the blog. Greg and I have been really busy with school, but were excited for the three day weekend. On Saturday we stayed home and enjoyed a lazy day around the house, in fact it was a little too lazy. By the end of the day we had planned a trip for Sunday in which we would walk seven miles to and around Venice Beach and then back home. We woke up on Sunday put on our walking shoes and headed out. We stopped at a bagel place on the way and each got one bagel…one nice thing about a city is there is no shortness on fresh baked food! (This is also one bad thing about a city.) We walked by a building in the shape of giant binoculars which was fun and then up the beach to the Venice Pier. There is always a ton of fishermen on the pier and yesterday was no different except that they were actually catching fish! (Much to the dismay of the seal swimming down below.) We have had record temps the last couple of weeks and yesterday it was in the 80’s and several surfers took to the waves. On the way back we walked the Venice Canals and found a very cute three bedroom two bath house for rent…for $3300 a month. Not going to happen; but it was fun to look at it and it has its own dock which was fun. On the way back we both got pretty hot and tired and were happy when we got home and could get back into our PJ’s for a while and sip some ice tea that Greg made. Around sunset we headed out again up to The Promenade to get some groceries. The Promenade is really neat at night, it is all lit up and they had salsa dancing going on where anyone could join. There was an older couple there putting them all to shame…so much fun!!!!! Anyway now we are both hitting the books and getting ready for another week. Hope everyone is doing well!

Rant

Okay, I might as well jump right in. Greg brought up today that I post a lot of pictures of Pico… after looking back through I have to agree with him. My only consolation is the fact that we don’t have kids and Pico is the only other thing living with us. In fact I am pretty sure that our plants are dying or already dead. So until Greg and I have kids or lose weight which ever happens first I will continue posting pictures of our wee dog. Thanks for listening to this rant!

PS: I promise that we will be losing the weight before having kids!!!!

Quick Note

Hello everybody! Well it is back to the ole grind for Greg and me. We came home last Thursday, but we decided to switch up the trip home a bit by driving part of the trip on old Route 66. The best part of Route 66 was this tiny little town on the border of Arizona and California called Oatman. This town is at the end of this very long and winding stretch of 66 (can you say carsick?) Anyway when we got into town I asked Greg if there was a parade going on because there was a ton of burrows walking around, then we realized that these were wild burrows that come in to town to get fed by all the tourists and then head for the hills at night! I found this to be extremely funny and I really want to go back some time. Greg and I had a nice weekend here in SaMo (Santa Monica) we went to the farmers market and walked all over town exploring…we didn’t really find anything new. I need to go read my anatomy book now but I have included some pictures from the holidays for all of you to see. It was wonderful seeing family and friends over the holidays and if we didn’t get to see you this time I promise we will do our best to see you next time!

Some pictures from our trip...

Since being home Pico has slept a lot.
What a trooper he rode the entire trip like this.
A baby burrow near Oatman!
Pico, living it up at my mom's.
